Alamo City Food Landmark: BUD JONES Family Restaurant

We have all been in the situation where you bare part of a group of hungry people who can't decide where to go dine for the evening.  It happens to the average person on a regular basis.  I came across this problem today.  In my case, it didn't take long to come up with a restaurant everyone could agree on.  I had an ace card, and it never fails me.  BUD JONES Family Restaurant is the great problem solver.  It is also an Alamo City Food Landmark.

What makes Bud Jones so great?  You can't turn it down.  It's a dining choice that conjures up an automatic yes.  Southside San Antonio is full of  local favorite eateries, but Bud Jones is its crowning jewel.  The popular restaurant has been serving San Antonio favorites for 60 years.  It is located at 1440 SW  Military Drive.  The menu at Bud Jones is one of the most diverse in the city.  Items such as their all you can eat fish, largest enchiladas in town, and their trademark large chicken fried steak have a huge line forming at their doors. When I  go, I always see another patron dining who I had seen there before.  Saying Bud Jones is popular is an understatement.

What makes Bud Jones successful is that the employees make you feel like family.  They give you a reason to keep coming back.  Great food served by great people.  People who go for the first time fall in love with the place.  My Mother loves their fried mushrooms.  My best friend loves their burgers.  I love the chicken fried steak, and it is served with a smile.  San Antonians love this restaurant.  The prices are good, and there is a alot of space for everyone to dine.  There is no wonder why the word family is on their lighted sign.  Family is what they are all about.

If you have never been to Bud Jones, you owe it to yourself to go.  Any occasion is perfect to go there.  There are not many restaurants that have have been around as long as they have, but Bud Jones is a legendary food stop.  It is also one of the few restaurants open til midnight a couple days out of the week, and I am cool with that.  So, grab the kids, jump in the car, and head over to Bud Jones.  Order the onion rings.  They are delicious.  You will fall in love with the place.
